The Iron Traitor (The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten #2) by Julie Kagawa

Julie Kagawa is easily one of my favorite authors ever. She is an amazing woman who I had the pleasure of meeting twice during BEA over the past couple years. I love the Iron Fey series and I was so excited to read Iron Traitor.
In the real world, when you vanish into thin air for a week, people tend to notice.

After his unexpected journey into the lands of the fey, Ethan Chase just wants to get back to normal. Well, as "normal" as you can be when you see faeries every day of your life. Suddenly the former loner with the bad reputation has someone to try for-his girlfriend, Kenzie. Never mind that he's forbidden to see her again.

But when your name is Ethan Chase and your sister is one of the most powerful faeries in the Nevernever, "normal" simply isn't to be. For Ethan's nephew, Keirran, is missing, and may be on the verge of doing something unthinkable in the name of saving his own love. Something that will fracture the human and faery worlds forever, and give rise to the dangerous fey known as the Forgotten. As Ethan's and Keirran's fates entwine and Keirran slips further into darkness, Ethan's next choice may decide the fate of them all.

This book was both thrilling and heartbreaking. I loved seeing Ethan really become more comfortable with his part in his sister and nephew's world. Kenzie and Ethan worked well together again in this one even if they had some issues. That's the best part of any relationship: when each person brings something different to the table so that they work together better to get through things. Annwyl was amazing as well. She cares so much for Keirran and she is willing to do anything to keep him safe. He feels the same way but he is so hard headed and in the end, he risks so much when he should have gone to his parents for help before he did something that he'd regret. I loved that Ash is such a great father and that he and Puck have reconciled. So much good stuff in this one but the ending gutted me!

You can click here to add this book to your Goodreads. You can also check out Julie Kagawa's website or follow her on Twitter.  If you haven't read the Iron Fey Series yet, you must try them!! I give The Iron Traitor 3 Fairies for book with so much emotion and great characters... but the ending will kill you!
