Love Comes Home (Senses #3) by Andrew Grey

I recently received a Review Copy of Love Comes Home from Dreamspinner Press through NetGalley.  I was so excited!  I love Andrew Grey!  I met him a few years back at BEA and he is a gem, an absolute gem.  He is one of my favorite Dreamspinner Press authors.  Check out the cover and Goodreads blurb:

A Senses Series Story

When architect Gregory Hampton’s son, Davey, starts having trouble in Little League, Greg takes him to an eye doctor. The diagnosis hits them hard. Davey’s sight is degenerating rapidly, and eventually he’ll go blind.

Tom Spangler is used to getting what he wants. When Greg captures his attention, he asks Greg for a date. They have a good time until Greg gets a call from the friends watching his son, telling him Davey has fallen. Greg and Tom return to find the worst has happened—Davey can no longer see.

With so much going on in his life, Greg doubts he’ll see Tom again. But Tom has researched beep baseball, where balls and bases make sounds to enable the visually impaired to participate in Little League. Tom spearheads an effort to form a team so Davey can continue to play the game he loves. But when Greg’s ex-wife shows up with her doctor boyfriend, offering a possible cure through a radical procedure, Greg must decide how far he’ll go to give Davey a chance at getting his sight back.
Andrew Grey is the KING of the emotional romance.  He really is.  He can make you feel so much in so few pages that it is astounding.  I really loved this book because it really struck a cord with me.  As a parent, you will do ANYTHING for your children.  You wear worn out undies while your kids get new cartoon undies.  You save up for holiday gifts that will make them smile.  You want to make them happy and when they are down, so are you.  My heart broke for Davey as he mourned the loss of his sight.  I also felt for Tom, who just wants so badly to help but not be seen as trying to "fix it."  I know that feeling for sure.  This is one romantic, heart warming read- highly recommended!

Artistic Appeal by Andrew Grey

I met Andrew Grey by chance at BEA this spring at the Dreamspinner Press booth.  He is as sweet and kind as the day is long!  I brought home a signed copy of one of his books from BEA and feel in love with his writing.  I was so excited to see that Dreamspinner Press is using NetGalley to get their Galleys out.  I received Artistic Appeal from NetGalley.  Here is the Goodreads Blurb:

Brian Watson knows close friends Gerald Young and Dieter Krumpf have an ulterior motive when they invite him to their Christmas party. Brian has taken over the case to secure the return of the famous painting called The Woman in Blue to Dieter, but they don’t want Brian to be all work and no play. They intend to set him up with a friend, but he’s not who catches Brian’s eye. Instead, it’s Nicolai, the deaf art restorer caring for the works already returned to Dieter.

But pursuing Nicolai won’t be easy. A year ago Nicolai had to fight to regain his independence after a bad break-up, and he’s reluctant to give up his freedom a second time. Plus, Brian has competition in Justin, Nicolai’s ex, who wants him back badly.

Nicolai’s reluctance isn’t the only roadblock. Brian was married to a woman for almost ten years. Now he has to confess to his mother, his ex-wife, and his young daughter that he loves a man—all while conducting a potentially groundbreaking court case and trying to convince Nicolai that love isn’t about co-dependence, it’s about support.
This book is a beautiful story of starting over, living life for yourself and the importance of love and family.  Andrew Grey has a knack for telling a story that draws you in entirely.  I love that his work is so full of expression and emotion.  His books are some of my favorite adult books.  Reading his work reminds me of the beauty of love in all its forms.  The story of Brian and Nicolai follows two men who have to move on from where they've been to get to a place where they belong.  It is heart warming and seasonal.  I really hope you'll give it a try.

This book has (obviously) GLBT themes and material as well as some sexual scenes which are no worse than you'd find in any romance novel or on any prime time tv show.  You can find out more about Andrew Grey on his website and you can click here to add the book to Goodreads.

Artistic Appeal earns 4 Fairies for being a beautiful love story that draws you in.
