Bright Young Things (Bright Young Things 1) by Anna Godberson

I was so excited to get my hands on a copy of Bright Young Things by Anna Godberson.  I've heard so many great things about her Luxe books and now her Bright Young Things series.  Here's the Goodreads blurb:

The year is 1929. New York is ruled by the Bright Young Things: flappers and socialites seeking thrills and chasing dreams in the anything-goes era of the Roaring Twenties.
Letty Larkspur and Cordelia Grey escaped their small Midwestern town for New York's glittering metropolis. All Letty wants is to see her name in lights, but she quickly discovers Manhattan is filled with pretty girls who will do anything to be a star…
Cordelia is searching for the father she's never known, a man as infamous for his wild parties as he is for his shadowy schemes. Overnight, she enters a world more thrilling and glamorous than she ever could have imagined—and more dangerous. It's a life anyone would kill for . . . and someone will.
The only person Cordelia can trust is Astrid Donal, a flapper who seems to have it all: money, looks, and the love of Cordelia's brother, Charlie. But Astrid's perfect veneer hides a score of family secrets.
Across the vast lawns of Long Island, in the illicit speakeasies of Manhattan, and on the blindingly lit stages of Broadway, the three girls' fortunes will rise and fall—together and apart. From the New York Times bestselling author of The Luxe comes an epic new series set in the dizzying last summer of the Jazz Age.
This book has a great feel to it.  It's like going back in time with a time machine.  You really feel as if you are in the twenties.  I love that these girls' stories are not all sunshine and roses.  I know my grandmother's stories of this time period are not all goodness and light but you can see the good times, the friendship and the trials that these girls go through.  There is mystery and suspense as well as an interesting storyline that follows these three girls.  All of the girls are interesting and different from one another.  The imagery of the book is vivid and really draws you in.  I enjoyed this book immensely but I don't want to give anything away.  I hope you'll give this great new series a try.  I'm going to try Anna's Luxe series soon!  This series is definitely for readers 14 and up.  The girls smoke, drink and end up in a few speakeasys.  The second book, Beautiful Days, was just released this week.

Bright Young Things gets 4 Fairies for the great 1920's feel and interesting plot.

I really want to read this. 'The Luxe ' was really good, so I should definitely finish that series too.

Overall the Luxe series was just good for me so I've been skeptical about reading this one. I did just get a copy though so I'm sure I will read it soon.
Since you enjoyed this story so much I would really recommend Vixen by Jillian Larkin, it has the same vibe and is set in the 1920s.
