With the scandalous nature of her birth to live down, Isabella Fairmont dreams of a proper marriage—even if a passionless one. She saves her deepest desires for the novel she dares to pen, wherein a handsome lord with dark powers seduces her. But then her courtship with an appropriate suitor is threatened by the sudden attentions of the reclusive Earl of Black…whose pale blue eyes and brooding sensuality are exactly as she described in her book. This book was wonderful! It was a breath of fresh air. I love how the Guardian Brethren Series mixes historical romance with mystery and magic. It is really interesting and exciting. The Earl of Black. Let's just get his character out of the way here. Oh my! He's tall, dark, sexy, brooding and a real go getter. If he decides that he wants something- he gets it. No matter what. You have to love a take charge man who doesn't let anything stand in his way. Isabella was great too. I love that she wanted a respectable marriage but that she still doesn't live a totally respectable life. She is very proper (far more so than her cousin) but she WRITES! Her book is so dark and mysterious and the hero is so like the drop dead sexy Black that it just makes the book that much better. None of the story or characters was a let down for me. Every one of them was interesting and gave something to the story. All in all this book was amazing and I can't wait to see what happens next!
Isabella tries to resist the mysterious Earl of Black.
Yet as he pursues her, with inexplicable knowledge of her past and kisses that consume her, Isabella fears she will succumb.
If only the earl could tell Isabella the truth. With very real, and treacherous, thieves endangering her life, Black will need to protect Isabella from the very people she trusts the most….
This book series is an adult series and there are semi-graphic love scenes in them so these are not for young readers. You can add the series to your Goodreads by clicking here.
Seduction and Scandal earns 5 Fairies from me for a brooding, dark hero and a smart as a whip heroine!
