Jekel Loves Hyde by Beth Fantaskey

I love Beth Fantaskey's books.  They are always super romantic and fun to read.  They're not life altering, heavy volumes but fast paced romps through her worlds.  They really have helped me out of reading slumps over the last year.  I lucked upon Jekel loves Hyde at the library and it was the perfect book to get me out of a can't read rut!  Here's the Goodreads blurb:

Jill Jekel has always obeyed her parents' rules--especially the one about never opening the mysterious, old box in her father's office. But when her dad is murdered, and her college savings disappear, she's tempted to peek inside, as the contents might be the key to a lucrative chemistry scholarship. To improve her odds, Jill enlists the help of gorgeous, brooding Tristen Hyde, who has his own dark secrets locked away. As the team of Jekel and Hyde, they recreate experiments based on the classic novel, hoping not only to win a prize, but to save Tristen's sanity. Maybe his life. But Jill's accidental taste of a formula unleashes her darkest nature and compels her to risk everything--even Tristen's love--just for the thrill of being...bad.
This was a fun and exciting story of love and mystery.  There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing through the entire read.  I really enjoyed Jill because I could relate to her.  Doesn't everyone wish they were something more than themselves from time to time?  Tristan was a lovely male lead.  He wasn't perfect by any means but he had his heart in the right place.  I also loved that Fantaskey made sure that the crazy experience that they lived through left them changed.  It really made sense that they would be darker individuals after losing parents and being involved in this insane plot.  Over all this was a lovely read.

You can find out more about Beth Fantaskey on her website and you can find her books on Goodreads here.  Jekel Loves Hyde earns 4 Fairies for being a fun and entertaining re-imagining of a classic.
