Timeless (Parasol Protectorate #5) by Gail Carriger

I love the Parasol Protectorate series by Gail Carriger!  It's really accessible steampunk with a decidedly paranormal twist.  I finally got my hands on the fifth book in the series and it was a joy to read! Here's the Goodreads blurb:

Alexia Tarabotti, Lady Maccon, has settled into domestic bliss. Of course, being Alexia, such bliss involves integrating werewolves into London High society, living in a vampire's second best closet, and coping with a precocious toddler who is prone to turning supernatural willy-nilly. Even Ivy Tunstell's acting troupe's latest play, disastrous to say the least, cannot put a damper on Alexia's enjoyment of her new London lifestyle. Until, that is, she receives a summons from Alexandria that cannot be ignored. With husband, child, and Tunstells in tow, Alexia boards a steamer to cross the Mediterranean. But Egypt may hold more mysteries than even the indomitable Lady Maccon can handle. What does the vampire Queen of the Alexandria Hive really want from her? Why is the God-Breaker Plague suddenly expanding? And how has Ivy Tunstell suddenly become the most popular actress in all the British Empire?
I am so sad that this book is the end of the series.  I understand that there will be a spin off, which will probably be awesome, but it's still sad.  Like losing a friend.  But this was maybe my favorite book of the series.  We finally get to see Alexia's life settle a bit (not much) as she, her husband, his pack of werewolves, their daughter, and her daughter's adopted vampire father are living in London.  Little Prudence can sort of talk which makes for some really cute and funny moments.  It's interesting to see how Alexia fares as a mother.  Biffy also gets a pretty big part in this book and I loved that.  He is so fun and interesting.  He's really growing as a character.  The point of view bounces around a bit but it's lovely to get to see all the different sides of what is going on.  All in all, I loved this book and this series.  I can not wait to see what comes out next from Gail Carriger!
