Wings of the Wicked (Angelfire #2) by Courtney Allison Moulton

I had the extreme good fortune to see Courtney Allison Moulton at Book Expo America this spring to get a signed copy of Wings of the Wicked.  I'd gotten a signed copy of Angelfire at BEA last year and it was great to not only get the next book in the series but also to see Courtney again.  She is a wonderfully sweet person and I highly recommend that you see her at a local signing if you can.  It doesn't hurt that her swag and bookmarks are absolutely GORGEOUS!  Here's the Goodreads blurb:

Life as the Preliator is harder than Ellie ever imagined. Balancing real life with the responsibility of being Heaven’s warrior is a challenge for Ellie. Her relationship with Will has become all business, though they both long for each other. And now that the secret of who she really is has come out, so have Hell’s strongest reapers. Grown bold and more vicious, the demonic threaten her in the light of day and stalk her in the night. She’s been warned. Cadan, a demonic reaper, comes to her with information about Bastian’s new plan to destroy Ellie’s soul and use an ancient relic to wake all the souls of the damned and unleash them upon humanity. As she fights to stay ahead of Bastian’s schemes , the revelations about those closest to her awaken a dark power within Ellie that threatens to destroy everything—including herself. She’ll be betrayed. Treachery comes even from those whom she loves, and Ellie is broken by the deaths of those who stood beside her in this Heavenly war. Still, she must find a way to save the world, herself, and her love for Will. If she fails, there will be hell to pay.
This second book in the Angelfire series is so gripping and action packed!  I tore through this monster of a book in a day and a half.  It's a lovely story with tons of emotional scenes and great characters.  I love Will (who doesn't?!) but Nathaniel, Caden, Marcus, Ellie's mother and her grandmother all shone in this book.  Nathaniel is a great character in this one because we get to see more of his interaction with Lauren, Ellie and Will.  He's a really great character who a reader can really identify with.  Caden was great in this book as well.  There is so much depth to his character.  Marcus is a new character who comes in and brings some joy and excitement to Ellie's world.  Ellie's mother is a woman after my own heart.  She knows where her loyalties and responsibilities lie.  She is such a support to her daughter.  Ellie's grandmother comes in with a surprising twist that gives Ellie some much needed support and relief. There is a lot of heartache but also love in this one.  It seems to me that Courtney's books are getting more amazing as they go on.  Her series shows angels and demons in a way that is pretty unique.  I really enjoy these books.

You can click here to find the Angelfire books on Goodreads.  You can find Courtney Allison Moulton on her website, her blog, on Tumblr and Twitter!  I give Wings of the Wicked 4 Fairies because it was an emotional roller coaster of a read that was impossible to put down.
