It's Complicated (Tucker Springs #7) By L. A. Witt

I have enjoyed every book that I have read so far in L. A. Witt's Tucker Springs Series from Riptide Publishing.  I recently got to read the seventh book in the series for review, check out the cover and Goodreads blurb:

After their umpteenth breakup, Brad Sweeney and Jeff Hayden are living apart and starting over from scratch. The morning after a promising first date, they’re more optimistic than ever that they can make it work this time . . . until Jeff’s ex-wife and business partner calls to announce she’s pregnant with Jeff’s baby. Brad’s already competing with a demanding business for Jeff’s time. Now there’s a baby on the way, and worse, he’s afraid Jeff is still carrying a torch for the woman who’s carrying his child.

Jeff is desperately trying to keep his life together, but before he can even get his head around the news that he’s going to be a father, his ex announces that she wants to leave Tucker Springs. Now he either has to take over her role at the shop while ferrying the baby back and forth from Denver, or move the business—and himself—with her.

Brad and Jeff knew reconciliation wouldn’t be easy, but they’re rapidly running out of room for compromise. And sooner or later, something has to give.

This book is pretty angsty- I will warn you of that up front. If you are looking for bubblegum sweetness and super happiness, you might want to pick up a different book. However, if you want to see realistic relationships and people who make mistakes, this is the book for you. Brad and Jeff have to work with so much working against them but they CHOOSE to be together and to make it work. They choose to believe that love is worth it. I feel like the story has a huge message for all of us. We can choose to be happy and to work towards that happiness or we can just let the weight of the world and it's troubles pull us down. There is just so much going on in this book. So much emotion, so many real people making mistakes and choosing to move forward is a positive way. L. A. Witt is really an artist of emotion. As an author, she can make you feel so much as you read. My main issue with this book was that the ending was the most uplifting part of the story and it ended pretty abruptly. I could have stood for a bit more of a look at it all after all the emotional turmoil of the rest of the book. I also loved how L. A. Witt showed that compromise is the cornerstone of a good relationship.

You can click here to find the Tucker Springs Series on Goodreads. L. A. Witt can be found on her website.  I give It's Complicated 3 Fairies for an emotional read that will take you on a journey.
