Silent Woods by Ofelia Grand

I recently received a copy of Ofelia Grand's book Silent Woods for review.  I was intrigued by the story but I was also afraid of what the story would entail.  I watch a lot of forensic shows but I am a wuss when it comes to murder mysteries in books.  But this story is not at all what I expected.  It was so much better than I ever could have expected.  Here's the cover and Goodreads blurb:

When Daniel’s husband Anders takes the family camping in the woods, Daniel can’t shake the feeling that something isn’t right.

He almost dismisses his fears as nothing more than his dislike of the great outdoors, but when the couple’s five-year-old son Axel goes missing, his worst fears are confirmed.

A search party reveals something more sinister than either man could ever have dreamed of encountering in the woods. Can they find Axel and save him before it’s too late?

I never saw the ending coming.  I was thinking that this would be a typical murder mystery but it was anything but.  There is magic and legend... I don't want to say too much because I want everyone to read it for themselves and be as surprised and amazed as I was reading this one.  I highly recommend this story!  There is nothing overtly sexual so this book would be great for young adult and adult readers alike.  Thank you to Ofelia Grand for giving me the opportunity to read this book!
