Intertwined by Gena Showalter

Intertwined is the first in the Intertwined series, Gena Showalter's YA series.  The second book is Unraveled and third, Twisted, is coming out in August.  Here's the Goodreads Blurb:
There's something about the new guy at Crossroads High…
Most sixteen-year-olds have friends.
Aden Stone has four human souls living inside him:
One can time travel.
One can raise the dead.
One can possess another human.
One can tell the future.
Everyone thinks he's crazy, which is why he's spent his entire life shuffled between mental institutions and juvie. All of that is about to change, however. For months Aden has been having visions of a beautiful girl—a girl who carries centuries-old secrets. A girl who will either save him or destroy him.
Together they'll enter a dark world of intrigue and danger…but not everyone will come out alive.

This book was not what I expected at all.  It was so much better.  I am chomping at the bit to read the copy of Unraveled that I ordered!  This book was so full of surprises and it was just a refreshing change from most of the YA books out there.  In Intertwined, you start out thinking that the romance will be occurring between the two characters that we're first introduced to.  But that is not how the story progresses.  Aden meets a vampire princess and his new friend, Mary Ann meets Riley the werewolf.  Everything about Intertwined felt different and unique.  I really enjoyed it, overall.  This book is an epic paranormal read that has just about every kind of paranormal creature/entity that you can think of.  I would recommend this book for readers 14 and over because there is a fair amount of violence and some drug references.

You can find out more about Gena Showalter and her books by checking out her blog and you can follow her on Twitter.  Please note that her blog has information for both her YA and Adult series'.  You may see adult material there!  Click here to add the Intertwined series to your Goodreads.

Intertwined gets 4 Fairies from me for incorporating all the best supernatural creatures.

I loved the twists in this book. I just read Unraveled and I like that one too. This looks like a really cool series so far. :)

I ordered my copy of Unraveled. I'm just waiting for it to be delivered. I have an ARC of Twisted from BEA and I am trying really hard not to read it out of order but I am SO tempted!!
