#BIR2011 Feature: Goliath by Scott Westerfeld

Today as part of my personal Best 7 of '11, I'm featuring a book that my husband and I both loved, Goliath by Scott Westerfeld.  Goliath is the third and final book in the Leviathan Series.  The series follows Deryn and Alek on their adventures across the globe in a very cool steampunk world.  The book occurs during what we know as WWI but with Clankers and Darwinists.  I got the Advanced Review Copy of this book during BEA- it was a MUST HAVE for me.  If I'd come home without it, my husband would have been pretty livid. He doesn't read nearly as many book in a year as I do but when he finds a series that he likes, he gets rabid about it.  I love the steampunkery and he loves the history.  Goliath is an amazing conclusion to this series and EVERYONE should read this series!  Here's the Goodreads blurb:

Alek and Deryn are on the last leg of their round-the-world quest to end World War I, reclaim Alek’s throne as prince of Austria, and finally fall in love. The first two objectives are complicated by the fact that their ship, the Leviathan, continues to detour farther away from the heart of the war (and crown). And the love thing would be a lot easier if Alek knew Deryn was a girl. (She has to pose as a boy in order to serve in the British Air Service.) And if they weren’t technically enemies.

The tension thickens as the Leviathan steams toward New York City with a homicidal lunatic on board: secrets suddenly unravel, characters reappear, and nothing is at it seems in this thunderous conclusion to Scott Westerfeld’s brilliant trilogy.
You must read these books if you haven't already.  They are especially nice in Audiobook form as they are read by Alan Cumming, who I just adore.  If you still need to read Goliath I have a giveaway for you!  I have one copy of Goliath for a lucky winner with a US address (NO PO BOXES).  Just fill out the Rafflecopter below! PLEASE NOTE THAT IF THE RAFFLECOPTER LOOKS WRONG, JUST CLICK THE TITLE OF THIS POST AND IT SHOULD FIX ITSELF. THANKS!!!
