Entwined by Heather Dixon

Entwined is a retelling of the story of the Twelve Dancing Princesses.  It has a beautiful cover and the story is lovely.  Here is the Goodreads blurb:

Azalea is trapped. Just when she should feel that everything is before her . . . beautiful gowns, dashing suitors, balls filled with dancing . . . it's taken away. All of it.

The Keeper understands. He's trapped, too, held for centuries within the walls of the palace. And so he extends an invitation.

Every night, Azalea and her eleven sisters may step through the enchanted passage in their room to dance in his silver forest.

But there is a cost.

The Keeper likes to keep things.

Azalea may not realize how tangled she is in his web until it is too late.
This is a lovely story that feels real but still maintains a fairytale quality and I loved it.  All of the girls have flower names with is really cute and I really enjoyed how they each had a definite personality.  Dixon did a really nice job of fleshing out the story so that it draws the reader in.  Keeper was a great character who kept you guessing.  All in all this was a wonderfully enchanting story that I'd read again.  This book is suitable for readers 12 and up as there are no sexual shenanigans or foul language.

Entwined earns 4 Fairies for a beautiful fairytale retold!
