2011- A Year in Review and Looking Ahead to 2012

Happy New Year, everyone!  I'm going to take today to go over all the coolness that was 2011 and talk a bit about what's going to happen in 2012.

Let's start with December because I have two things I need to wrap up from December.  I participated in RAK hosted by the Book Soulmates and in the Bookworm Santa Swap. I had Ricki from Reading Challenged and I sent her Tithe by Holly Black from her wishlist.  I received Paranormalcy from Veronica at Stories of My Life.  This was a great experience and I hope to do it again next year.  Thanks to the girls at The Magic Attic and Book Briefs who put this together.  As for my December RAK: I received I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone from Sarah and Supernaturally from Danielle.  Thanks so very much girls!! I sent out First Drop of Crimson to Danielle.  I love the RAK program from Book Soulmates!

Now for a quick recap of the year! I started the year with less than a hundred followers and sometime during the Christmas weekend, I was given the most awesome gift- I broke 1,000 followers!  Thanks you guys for that!  I started the year off barely knowing how to use Twitter and now I have 990 followers.  WOW.  That blows my mind.  I started using Networked Blogs in January and now I'm up to 242 followers.  I attended BEA and met some awesome bloggers and authors.  I attended my first author signing.  My Signed Books Collection has grown from 4 books to an entire 3 shelf book shelf.  I participated in my first giveaways and my first blog tours.  I even got to participate in Best I've Read 2011, which is a dream come true.  I can not wait to see how 2012 goes!

In 2012, I plan on adding a new feature on Fridays called Flash Friday.  I've started reading and collecting comics after my kids got me hooked on Young Justice on Cartoon Network.  So, on Fridays, I plan to recap and feature my comics from that week.  I'll only be featuring those that I've bought/read and those that I've gotten for my kids.  The titles include: Batman and Robin, Young Justice, Teen Titans, The Flash, Justice League, Tiny Titans, Green Arrow, Superboy and Nightwing.  New comics are released every Wednesday so each Friday I'll be letting you know what I read/bought two days before.  I'll also review Trade Paperbacks of past series and story arcs.  I've come to love comics and I hope you will too.

I'll be continuing with the Teaser Tuesday meme.  I'm going to have a Wednesday meme but I'm not sure if I will stick with WWW Wednesday or if I want to do Waiting on Wednesday or even Wordless Wednesday or if I'll mix it up.  Any suggestions?  I'm already signed up for my first blog tour of 2012 and I plan on attending BEA again. I hope you'll all stick with me because I've got big plans for Amethyst Daydreams as we go into 2012!
