Batman: Hush Vol. 1 and 2 by Jeph Loeb

If you've been paying any kind of attention lately, you'd have noticed that a new found love of comics has overtaken my family.  The kids love Young Justice and they read the Tiny Titans and Batman:Brave and the Bold comics.  My husband reads most of my comics as well as his favorite, The Savage Hawkman.  It's been something that has brought my sons and I closer and given their dad a way to connect with them.  The Batman Family is one of the main comic legacies that I read and collect.  I happened across the Hush collected editions at my local library and had to read them.  Here's the Goodreads blurbs for both volumes:

From Jeph Loeb, the author of Batman: Dark Victory and Jim Lee, the founder of Wildstorm Comics.
Old friends and enemies find themselves thrown together in a murderous plot hatched by Poison Ivy. What is she plotting? No one quite knows, but by manipulating both Batman and his enemies Killer Croc and Catwoman tensions are high and no one is to be trusted in Gotham City tonight!

Using the Joker, Harley Quinn, and Ra's al Ghul as his own private pawns, the enigmatic man known only as Hush makes Batman, Robin and Nightwing endure a series of torturous mental and physical attacks. But it is not until Batman learns his mysterious assailant's true identity that he suffers his greatest defeat and betrayal.

I loved this.  The Hush story arc is a fast paced race to the finish that leaves your head aching.  You never know who to trust or who is a pawn in the elaborate ruse that has all been engineered by the villain you least expect.  Your heart will break as Batman finds love and the possibility of it in his strange life.  You'll smile as Nightwing gives his father and mentor advice you'd expect from Dick Grayson.  Tim Drake plays master detective and Catwoman makes you believe that Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne belong together.  All in all this was an epic read and a must read for all Bat Fans.  You can add the collected editions to you Goodreads:  Volume 1 and Volume 2.  You can also find out more about the current and past exploits of Batman from DC Comics!

Batman: Hush earns 5 Fairies for being an amazing fast paced read.
