The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

I've been wanting to read The Night Circus for over a year so I was beyond excited to finally get a chance to read it.  This book was SO worth the wait!  I loved every moment of this book and COULD NOT put it down!  This book is magical.  It really is.  The characters and the circus itself just pull you into their world.  Here is the Goodreads blurb:

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night. But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway—a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them, this is a game in which only one can be left standing, and the circus is but the stage for a remarkable battle of imagination and will. Despite themselves, however, Celia and Marco tumble headfirst into love—a deep, magical love that makes the lights flicker and the room grow warm whenever they so much as brush hands. True love or not, the game must play out, and the fates of everyone involved, from the cast of extraordinary circus performers to the patrons, hang in the balance, suspended as precariously as the daring acrobats overhead. Written in rich, seductive prose, this spell-casting novel is a feast for the senses and the heart.
This book is so unique and perfect.  I had a hard time with the changing perspectives at first but that was more an issue of my kids interrupting me than the writing.  It was easy to fall into the pattern of the view points after a few chapters.  Marco and Celia are such lovely characters who you just can't help rooting for.  The circus that they create is vividly described and lovingly put together.  I also really enjoyed Poppet and Widget.  (I have a set of fraternal twins who are five and I wish that I had read this before they were born.)  Poppet and Widget are amazingly well written as well.  They are so bright and vibrant.  They reach out to Bailey and bring him the chance to make his dreams come true.  I can't even begin to describe how amazing this book is.  It is so vivid and you feel as if you are really there in this magical world of the circus.  I hope that everyone will read this book and become a reveur!

You can find Erin Morgenstern on Facebook and Twitter.  She also has a great website where you can find out what she is working on next.  Click here to add The Night Circus to your Goodreads.  The Night Circus earns 5 Fairies for a lovely book that has become one of my favorite books of all time.
