Why I Love YA and Beth Revis' Giveaway of Awesomeness!

I love YA because there are so many great books that are "YA."  They can bring back the high school years without the personal angst, acne and embarrassment.  They span SO many genres.  You have contemporary, paranormal, dystopian, and more.  You could read a YA book everyday and not read two books that were the same all year.  I also like that YA books have been the bridge for my husband and I.  The first books I got him to read that I enjoyed were the Twilight books.  Since then, he'll read anything that I throw at him and he usually loves them and in turns pushes the same books at his friends.  We've both read The Across the Universe series, Divergent, The Peculiar, The Spindlers, and more.  It's great to be able to share books and my husband will read them.  He won't touch most of my adult books because they just creep him out for one reason or another.  As our eldest son gets older, we have started to share books and series with him too.  We've shared the Percy Jackson books and the Artemis Fowl books.  It's only going to get better as his reading level grows and we can share even more books with him.  So many authors and books from the YA label have changed my life for the better.  Even books that others don't care for.  When I first read the Twilight series, I was suffering from Postpartum Depression.  I was a full time mom with infant twins and a toddler not even a full year older than the twins at home.  I was dealing with my first born going off to preschool as well.  I needed an escape.  My home felt like a prison sometimes.  It was nothing but feeding kids and changing diapers and pull ups- all day.  My husband works nights so there was little relief for my cabin fever.  The Twilight books brought me out of the every day and gave me a mini vacation.  I still don't remember a lot of the twins' first year because it was so stressful and insane but I can tell you how much better my life became after finding YA books.

Beth Revis is one of the amazing authors that I have "met"since I became an avid YA reader and blogger.  She has an amazing giveaway for you to check out!!
